Food Partners in top 150 British Food Companies

Food Partners is now one of the top 150 UK food manufacturing and processing companies according to the Grocer. The annual table published in July 2005 by OC&C Strategy Consultants shows that the company has rapidly grown to £46.5m turnover in 2004, a huge increase since its formation in 2001.

Scottish Healthy Choices Award

Food Partners has been awarded The Scottish Healthy Choices Award in June 2005. This award is for manufacturers and caterers who provide healthy options in a healthier environment.

Commenting on the award, Liz Earl Development Director for Food Partners said: “Healthier eating is about reducing the amount of salt, fat and sugar we eat, and increasing our intake of fruit, vegetables and complex carbohydrates (i.e. potatoes, rice, pasta, bread). We are delighted that 15 of our products have been recognised as meeting these criteria, and are proud to offer healthy sandwiches to our customers”.

Food Partners 25th largest Scottish Food Company

Scotland’s 25th largest food manufacturer is now Food Partners, according to the Grocer, 2nd July 2005. Based at Kilmarnock with additional production and distribution facilities throughout mainland UK, Food Partners supplies many key Scottish businesses including Scottish Parliament, Scottish Office and the Scottish NHS.

Caffè Nero win Coffee Bar Sandwich retailer of the Year Award

Caffè Nero has won the British Sandwich Association’s top choice at its prestigious Sammies Awards, on 12th May 2005. The coffee chain beat many well known high street brands including Costa, and M&S Café Revive, to win the overall Coffee Bar Sandwich Retailer of the Year, a key award.

Caffè Nero was nominated, because of its great strength in food that is an integral part of its Italian heritage. It uses a simple food philosophy, working with Food Partners as its exclusive sandwich supplier, of seeking out the very best, fresh baked breads and flavoursome ingredients, many of which are from Italy, combining them in attractive packing to create delicious sandwiches, wraps and paninis for its loyal customers.

Sandwich Designer of the Year Finalists

Food Partners NPD Manager Kate Welch was a finalist in the Sandwich Designer of the Year Awards held in conjunction with the Sammies, the awards for the British Sandwich Association. Kate’s sandwich, Crumbled Goat’s Cheese with Chargrilled Red Pepper, Sweet Chilli sauce and mixed baby leaves on a cracked Black Pepper plaited roll, was selected from over 70 entries in the Suffolk Foods Hot and Spicy Sandwich of the Year Award 2005.

Commenting on her success Development Director for Food Partners Liz Earl said: “Food Partners pride themselves on having excellent consumer insights and a leading edge product development team. Kate’s success demonstrates our ability to develop delicious products that are relevant to today’s consumers on the move”.

Men’s Health Magazine’s Sandwich Awards Win

Tastte! Deli Chicken and SunBlush Tomato sandwich has won the Men’s Health Magazine’s top choice in its extensive review of the sandwich market in April 2005. The tempting sandwich beat many well known high street brands including M&S, Tesco, Boots and Costa, to win the overall best sandwich award. Compass also scooped another top choice in the BLT category with a great tasting bacon offer, which was also healthy.

Commenting on the success Nic Townsend Tastte! brand manager explained: “The award reinforces our belief in the delicious Tastte! Deli range of sandwiches. The range has been developed using consumer research and nutritional expertise, and we are delighted that top chefs and nutritionists recognise our excellent choice of ingredients and innovative recipes.”

The Tastte! Deli range is a part of the extensive portfolio of sandwiches supplied throughout Compass outlets and hand crafted by Food Partners. Development Director for Food Partners Liz Earl added: “Men eat more sandwiches than women, and they buy them most frequently from their workplace. Men are looking for health, great taste, and convenience, every time they buy and we are delighted that the Tastte! range has been recognised as providing the best option for modern consumers”.
